God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.

Everyone remember this isn’t finished. I still have stuff to put away, I want to paint and make new curtains and possible stain the floors. I haven’t even got the computer set back up yet; the cords are in a big mess on the chair. Why is it that you have 2 million wires to run one little computer?

As you can see the hardwood floors are really stained who knows what all has stained them some of the stains were there when we put the last layer of carpet on them. But, there are more since then.

The big wooden shelving thing is an entertainment center my dad built me in the 80’s. It’s still beautiful and it works wonderfully for storage. You can see all of the white target drawers I put together in the one shot too. I have 2 drawers full of rub on and 2 full of flowers, I really think I need a 12 step program. BTW, I took these with my little camera I was to lazy to drag out my big camera; so some of them are fuzzy.

Any one have any ideas on what color I should paint? I want to be careful I don’t want anything that will cause color cast. I have enough trouble getting true colors. Also would you put long curtains back on the window or would you go with maybe a valance and a short curtain on the windows. With long curtains I could just buy some twin sheets and hem the top to make a pocket for the rod; that’s what I did in my bedroom and I love the fullness of the curtains.

That is such a great room to work with. What I would do personally is paint the walls a Buttery Cream color with bright white trim. Go with Those faux wood 2 inch blinds from Home depot and just do Valances with maybe short drapes (length of window)just for the sides not to cover window, blinds will do that. I think with the buttery cream walls and white trim it will set off the floors and look very warm and inviting. Good luck Jane!

Great looking room Jane! I agree with the neutral colors on the walls so that you aren't overwhelmed in the room. I would say a light tan or cream. But I think you should bring in an accent color you really love and gets you excited to be in the room. Choose that color for your curtains and a few key accent pieces in your room. It could be a key color in one of your favorite photos or on your lamp. LOL sorry, too much advice? Can't wait to see the final product!

It is a great space. I would agree with what Verna said, neutral on the walls and a pop of color for the curtains and other accessories you may bring in. Good luck, can't wait to see it finished.

Your room is looking great Jane. What is your favorite color? I'd go with that or a nice warm taupe. I like the idea of the shorter curtains or blinds.
